How It Works
The auction will work as follows:
- The auction will begin at noon EST on January 13, 2012. At that time, posts for each auction item will go up. Once an item’s post is up, the item is open for bidding.
- To bid, leave a comment giving your name, your email address, and the amount of your bid. (It’s okay to just put your email address in the “Email” field rather than in the body of the comment.)
- Bids must be in increments of at least $1.
- You may wish to check the “Notify me of follow-up comments via email” box, so that you will get emails when other people bid on the item. (If you do this, it’s a good idea to check the webpage as well.)
- If two or more people bid the same amount, only the bid with the earliest timestamp will be valid.
- The auction will end at 11:59 pm EST on January 20, 2012. Bids with a later timestamp will be disregarded.
- We will contact winning bidders by no later than January 22 with instructions on how to donate and with any questions we may have for them (e.g. who you would like a book personalized to, if applicable). If a winning bidder does not respond and has not made a donation within a week of being contacted, we will contact the next highest bidder.
As always, anyone who donates any amount to the workshop will receive the 2012 Alpha alumni anthology e-book of illustrated flash fiction. You can donate to Alpha at any time here.
